Hortitool Consulting participates in the 1st Portugal AgriFOOD Seminar in November 2022

Lisbon opens its doors to the Portugal AgriFOOD Seminar, San Telmo Business School’s first agrifood seminar in Portugal, promoted by Caja Rural del Sur and in collaboration with Lisbon Agri Conferences.

This is an intensive business management seminar for the food value chain, aimed at senior executives, presidents, and managing directors of SMEs and cooperatives in the agrifood sector. The programme is structured into four two day blocks, delivered between October and December 2022.

The aim of this seminar is to provide participants with up to date content to strengthen their understanding of the agrifood value chain, learn about new trends and challenges in the sector, and develop managerial and strategic skills.

The opening block was built around the themes of sustainability, operations, and the processing industry, featuring the case studies “Pazo de Vilane”, “Proan”, and “Parmareggio S.P.A.”.

Two conferences stood out in this first part of the intensive seminar. In the first, Professor José Luís García del Pueyo presented the value of brands in today’s agrifood context, followed by the participation of Antonio Casanova, CEO of Unilever in Portugal. The second conference focused on FoodTech, moderated by Professor José Antonio Boccherini Bogert, and featured Pedro Nonay, former CEO of Solaris Commodities and former CEO for Europe and the Middle East at Louis Dreyfus Commodities.

The seminar is expected to continue with the next block in early November, extending the discussion and the acquisition of tools on topics such as food, technology, sustainability, and shaping a better future for Portuguese companies, with a global view of the sector.
